ABOUT THE KIDS OF ST. NICHOLAS OF MYRA ADOPTION
St. Nicholas of Myra Adoption Center is a non-profit organization based in Tucson, Arizona. While St. Nick’s works with the State of Arizona to care for and provide dependent children with foster homes, their true mission is to find permanent adoptive
families for all of their children.
St. Nick’s assists children from all backgrounds who have been victims of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. Some of the children have been waiting for several years and have had multiple foster care and group home placements, resulting in numerous losses and separations. But, despite it all, they are still kids; they laugh, they cry, they love, and they so desperately want to be loved. Living in foster care can be a challenging and uncertain experience for children.
Last year we raised approximately $7,000 from local lawyers, including you. Using your donations along with generous giving by local vendors, we took approximately 300 children from St. Nick’s to Pump It Up where we played for hours on end, we ate delicious food from Sweet Tomatoes, Eegees, and Papa Johns, and we gave away two gifts to each child who attended. In addition, we provided the kids with some necessities (backpacks, towels, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.).
With your help, the Holiday Party provides these children with one day where they can leave behind their worries and just be a kid... will you help?

ABOUT THE PIMA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION YOUNG LAWYERS DIVISION
Every year the Young Lawyers Divisions (“YLD”) of the State Bar of Arizona and Pima County Bar Association join forces and support a local charitable organization who cares for children in foster and group homes by throwing a holiday party for children who may not otherwise get to celebrate. Last year, thanks to generous cash donations by local individuals and the support of our vendors, YLD celebrated with approximately 100 children for six hours at Pump It Up, ate food from Eegees, Sweet Tomatoes, and Papa Johns and gave at least two toys to every child present. YLD also provided towels, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and toothbrush holders to St. Nick’s to help support the new children that the organization takes in throughout the year who otherwise have no such essentials when they come into foster care.
This year YLD is again sponsoring St. Nicholas of Myra (a program of Catholic Community Services). We know it’s early and, if you’re lucky, the holidays haven’t even crossed your mind yet. But this has been a tough year and there will likely be many organizations seeking your assistance. We hope by reaching out to you early, you will pay special attention to this request and continue your generous support of our local community.
To make this year’s holiday celebration even more successful for the children, we are seeking donations of toys for children of all ages and basic essentials. Last year we gave away toy guitars, tricycles, blocks, dolls, make-up kits, mp3 players, cameras, photo albums etc., as well as the essential items described above. To help even more children this year, we are requesting donations of as many such items as possible so that whatever cash donations we are fortunate enough to receive can stretch even farther. We are also requesting donations of wrapping supplies (gift wrap, tissue paper, gift bags, gift tags, tape, etc).
Finally, we also understand from St. Nick’s program director that there is a great need for toiletries (towels, toothbrushes, hair brushes, toothpaste, etc) and clothing for the children who arrive at St. Nick’s often with only the clothes on their backs.
We will return the favor by thanking you in our advertising prior to the event, on our banner at the event, and in the Pima County Bar Association’s monthly legal newsletter, The Writ, which is read by every attorney in Pima County.
